Beautiful, vibrant butterflies come in all the colours of the rainbow and more. In this session artists are invited to create a multi media butterfly and or bird artwork on quality A3 watercolour paper using a tried and tested transfer technique.
The transfer technique offers artists the opportunity to explore the art materials and concentrate of the use of colour and details rather than using all of their time trying to perfect a drawing. Using reference images, artists colour the back of the printed copies of butterflies with graphite sticks, then trace over the image with a pencil to transfer the image onto watercolour paper. They then use watercolour, pastel, paint pens and coloured pencil to bring their butterfly to life.
