Art After School offers carefully curated, quality, engaging art activities giving young artists the opportunity to explore various art materials and techniques, facilitating the expansion of their creative skills and elevation of their artistic confidence.
Guided by a professional artist and trained secondary school teacher, the program explores relevant art styles and themes across a variety of art forms including drawing with pencil, charcoal and pastels; painting with ink, watercolour and acrylic paint; printmaking and clay making. Exploration of various art forms provides challenges and opportunity for young artist to experiment and problem solve, while encouraging expression of their distinct artistic styles.
During a term-long weekly art class, young artists and educators alike, are afforded the opportunity to develop genuine nurturing relationships. The educator has the chance to learn more about each artist, enabling them to support the young artists’ individual creative journey more deeply, and the young artists make new friends while they navigate the social aspect of creating together.
The cost of the program covers all quality materials, light snacks and a sketch book to take home.
